At the 2025 Trace Awards & Summit in Zanzibar, Tanzania, Nandy won Best Artist Tanzania, Diamond Platnumz won Best Global African Artist, and Zuchu also received recognition.

Dayoo’s unique ability to merge memorable rhythms with soulful vocals has been evident since the beginning of his career. He initially gained recognition with hit singles such as “Utalala,” “Umebadilika,” and “Waaah,” which not only became popular in Tanzania but also started to reach a wider audience online.

His recorded career officially started around 2019, when he recorded his first song “Tulia”. But it was in 2022 when things changed, with the release of “Nikuone” (including a remix with Kusah), and the collaboration “Handsome” with Young Lunya helped him reach a larger audience. But, the real breakthrough came with the song “Huu Mwaka”, including a remix featuring Rayvanny.
