Walter Chilambo is a Tanzanian gospel singer, songwriter, and producer. He first rose to national fame after winning the “Bongo Star Search” (BSS) competition in 2012. Although he initially started his career as a secular artist, he transitioned to gospel music after a personal spiritual experience in 2016.
Chilambo is recognized for his smooth and soulful vocal style, often blending contemporary gospel with African rhythms. His music is deeply influenced by his Christian faith, and he uses his songs to convey messages of hope, love, and forgiveness. Some of his most popular and well-known songs include “Only You Jesus,” “Sijaona,” “Usinipite,” and “Unaniona.” He has also released several albums, including “Ushuhuda” and “I’m Blessed,” and frequently collaborates with other artists in the gospel and secular music scenes.
