Mdundo Launches DJ Mixtapes Competition 2021

December 1, 2021: Mdundo, which is Africa’s leading online service, has launched a one month DJ competition that aims at creating a platform for DJs in Tanzania to showcase their talents along with growing awareness and trust of the Mdundo brand which works with over 100,000 musicians and talents across Africa.

The Senior Marketing Manager, Curation East Africa at Mdundo, Mr. William Abagi said the campaign will involve DJs of any genre who will participate by registering on www.mdundodj.com and then submit Mixtapes. The one month campaign which is currently going will draw in submissions up to December 10, 2021.

He further noted that Tanzania had the platform’s biggest user base in the quarter leading to September, recording 4.1 Million unique users and this is an opportunity that the DJ’s can leverage to expand their fanbase and further their brand reach. He urges DJs to register in numbers, submit their mixtapes and mobilize their fans to support, download or vote for them as the DJ with the most downloads by users who will be crowned King of the Turntables.

According to Abagi the winning DJ will walk home with a sponsorship deal worth Tsh. 7,000,000 plus 30 minutes DJ set at a major event in 2022 and radio airplay.

The winner of the campaign is expected to be unveiled on December 22, 2021.
